Daniel’s educational journey is as impressive as his professional one. Correcto is a cutting-edge SaaS platform that provides real-time solutions through AI to empower Spanish speakers and learners. Their goal is to help users communicate with greater accuracy, confidence, and impact in the Spanish language by correcting spelling, grammar, and other linguistic elements.
Boasting a database of over 1.5 million phrases compiled from diverse texts across multiple categories, the platform harnesses the most advanced artificial intelligence in the industry – allowing users to rely on accurate writing for any Spanish speaker or learner – perfecting your communication in seconds.
When creating the platform, Abraham Lopez, co-founder and CEO of Correcto, took inspiration from his own experiences studying away from his native Spain. While enrolled at King’s College London, Lopez realised his confidence in his native tongue waned as he learned French and English. In a recent interview, he said, “I began to realise that I had lost contact with my mother tongue and that resulted in me not feeling confident when writing professionally… which led me to look for solutions and ideas that could eliminate this problem.”
After completing his studies at King’s College and while pursuing a master’s degree at Cambridge University, Lopez began tentative plans for what would become Correcto. From the modest beginnings of a £20,000 startup scholarship grant, the company has grown to a team of 25 and secured significant capital to develop its client base in Spain, the United States, and Latin America.
Interestingly, Correcto’s AI development work took place before the massive success of OpenAI’s GPT software. Accordingly, the company developed their own standalone AI technology, representing a unique voice in the blossoming AI industry.
When discussing Correcto and its place in today’s industry, Abraham Lopez perfectly summed up the company’s core values: “Correcto is here to empower you, to make every communication you have the best version you can be. Our mission is to help you; we take care of your writing, and you focus on the message.”
Passionate about social issues, Daniel Montilla Navas’ work ethic is deeply rooted in causes such as access to education, social equality, and sustainability. These values permeate his professional endeavours, shaping his approach to his work and its impact on society. When discussing his desire to make learning and language accessible, Daniel made clear that his values perfectly match the goals of Correcto.
“I love language and wanted to have an impact on how people interact with it”, said Daniel. “Correcto is trying to make access to proper language a given to anyone, regardless of their background.” His commitment to these causes is a tribute to his character and both his and Correcto’s inherent drive to use technology as a force for good.
However, it is his dedication to teaching others about his expertise that truly sets Daniel apart. “I love to teach people about my field and how it can help them achieve what they want to achieve”, said Daniel. He seeks to create a ripple effect by sharing his knowledge, educating the next generation of data scientists and AI experts. Through his teachings, he hopes to pass on his knowledge and inspire others to create their own path in this dynamic field.
Daniel is not one to adhere to societal standards. Instead, he encourages individuals to carve out their own niches. This approach has been an underpinning factor behind his success, proving that diverging from mainstream expectations is possible and can lead to unparalleled success. His advice to those pursuing similar goals is simple yet powerful: “Really try to follow your own path.”
